Ayurvedic Anti Fungal Skin Treatment

Ayurveda has different line of treatment to cure fungal infections. In Ayurveda the fungal infection is named as Dadru. As per Ayurveda, all skin problems or infections are thought to be due to blood impurities and their treatment involves blood purification. It is very important to treat the infected area as it may spread on the entire body and cause other complications. There are various types of skin infections such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch and many more. The general symptoms of these skin infections include itching, rashes, redness, skin shedding etc. Ayurvedic home remedies are the best methods of treating skin fungus.

Fungal infections are very common skin disorders with itching and burning skin. The fungus can infect only a area of the skin or can be found in several areas of the body. The fungal infection can be easily treated by some diet management and other natural remedies which are discussed as below.

First step to skin fungus

First and foremost, wash your skin with an antiseptic soap before starting the treatment. This will eliminate the dirt and germs that are accumulated on it. It is very important to keep the skin clean and dry at all times so that the fungus does not spread. This treatment should be conducted every time you remove your footwear as feet are the main breeding ground for skin fungus.

Following are some of the Ayurvedic remedies for fungal infections:

  • Garlic has anti-fungal and anti-infective properties. The juice extracted from garlic can be applied on the infected area two or three times a day.
  • Turmeric along with a few basil leaves is also good.
  • A paste prepared from margosa leaves and turmeric powder can also be applied 2-3 times in a day.
  • Make a paste out of few neem leaves and raw turmeric. Apply this paste at infection site twice or thrice.
  • Mix coconut oil with camphor and apply 2 to 3 times a day.
  • Juice of Mint is also suggested.

Apply yogurt on the affected skin fungus. Yogurt contains colony of live bacteria that can fight fungus infestation and eradicate them. You can also consume yogurt regularly in your diet.

Above all, drink plenty of water and maintain proper hygiene. Also restrict the consumption of processed and packaged foods as they tend to aggravate the problem.

Therapeutic remedies includes Kaishore Gugllu, Khadirarisht, Gandhak Rasayana and Triphla Powder.

Ayurvedic Antifungal oral tablets and antifungal topical creams are available in market. If the skin shows no improvement after 2 to 3 weeks, it is highly recommended to consult a dermatologist.
